Reflections / Print Series
A series of 3 prints titled ‘Perception’, ‘Perspective’ & ‘Reflection’. The series plays with disruptive typography to create abstract compositions and experiments with color and texture that further emphasise the meaning behind the words.
Perception: The colour palette here takes inspiration from a similar phrase based on the idea of perception: “The Grass is Greener on the Other Side”, hence the use of the colours green and beige to represent the juxtaposition of green grass (fullness) and barren lands (emptiness). The type composition itself resembles the shape of a glass to further emphasise the meaning of the metaphor.
Perspective: The diffused off-white background and dark crimson text represent one’s own flesh and blood, which the artwork asks the viewer to look beyond.
Reflection: The black background and sky-coloured text represents the co-existence of night and day in the world, constantly reflecting upon each other regardless of one’s vision.
